Looking for a large monitor at a good price and can deal with a modest resolution? If so, AOC's just-released i2757fh might be for you. It features an IPS anti-glare panel, a ridiculously-thin 2mm bezel, 5ms response time, 50,000,000:1 contrast ratio, a brightness of 250cd/m2, built-in speakers and even a detachable stand. All that for an MSRP of $349. But it gets better.

I wasn't aware 2560x1600 had become standard for 27 inch. Last year when I was shopping for 27 inch displays they were all 1920x1080 and anything other than a 30 inch 2560x1600 seemed unheard of.

It's not really a standard, but it's what most people aim for. 1920x1080 on a display that size is just ugly.
