Three more days to go!

Most of the components we've taken a look at so far are imperative to the operation of the PC, but one of the most important pieces is something we haven't covered... until now. In order to give our gaming PC an actual purpose for existing, ASUS is including its MS238H LED monitor. I had the opportunity to check this monitor out at CES, and I gotta say, it's different. For one, it's very thin, and likewise, it's very light.

Thanks also to its unique stand, the display's angle can be altered by a mere finger, yet is secure enough to not be changed by accident during normal use. As you'd expect, this 23.8" screen features a 1080p resolution, along with HDMI and DVI inputs and a built-in earphone jack.

I feel like I should feed my rig to this one. The strong seeks out the sick and weak. It's the circle of computer life.

My machine wouldn't even count as an appetizer.

Whew, we've covered a lot of hardware up to this point, but we're just about wrapped-up. Tomorrow, we'll reveal the last piece, the chassis, but today, we're showing off the brain of our gaming PC, Intel's Core i7-870. This ultra-fast 2.93GHz quad-core processor from Intel is of its Lynnfield architecture, which we explored in quite some depth here.

The processor is built on a 45nm process, includes the super-effective Turbo feature, and of course, HyperThreading. Thanks to that feature, your PC will see this quad-core as an eight-core, which is hugely beneficial for effective multi-tasking, or for when using heavily multi-threaded applications. Not to mention, compared to the Core 2 series, all of the Core i's have a built-in memory controller for ultra-low latencies and huge bandwidth. Without question, this processor is the perfect compliment to our gaming PC.

As far as the case goes, judging by the picture I'm definitely placing my bets on the Corsair 800D

Alright, we're almost finished! It's been a long 12 days, but it's been fun. I love revealing absolutely kick-ass products, especially when they're all going to be in one wicked gaming PC! Perhaps the worst-kept secret all along has been the chassis, and to those who guessed at it being the 800D from Corsair, you're absolutely correct. Good job to werty316 for being the first person to spot it out!

It's absolutely fitting that our gaming PC have a sweet case, and they don't get much sweeter than this. The first time I laid my eyes on this beauty was last summer at Computex. While our friend at Corsair, Robert, was more impressed by the company's H50 liquid cooler, I couldn't take my eyes off this thing. For the company's absolutely first chassis, I just couldn't get over how perfect it seemed to be. It's huge, sturdy, looks great, has creative design features and an ideal airflow scheme to keep your components cool. It's just awesome.

And this wraps up our preview! Stay tuned to the site as we'll be launching the contest either really late tonight or early tomorrow.
