Well rob all this proves that this site has a real genuine giveaway unlike some other sites which gives the prizes to its members that has the most post or is the oldest member "cough hothardware"

To answer some folks here, I was laughing and trembling at the same time, not because I've been fiending for anything, I have an 800D i7965 system with some SSDs raptors and the like, but my email address for this site was still listed as FocusElf@[]com, an email I don't even have access to any longer, perhaps the original winner(s) were in a similar predicament.

On some of the sites I design where we use VBSoft like here on TG, we have changed it to an email based log in, and the username is only used for display - privacy remains the same.

Yet again, happy birferday to TG and a fabulous contest!

What do Opie and Anthony call those people that just enter hundreds of contests a day? Contest pigs? My wife is sort of a contest pig, won a nice LG 42" LCD dealy in a Weisers contest and doesn't drink at all!

It made me laugh though for some people who thought that people who answered the survey were part of our tech crowd. There are contest sites where people just share contest links all day long. Rob might have caught a special Global ran a year or so ago, some people make their living out of entering contests. $5,000 here, $10,000 there, a massive new PC rig, a trip to Disney Atlantis... incomprehensible to me though.

Pretty sure us contest types would be the last to not check their email: Setting up an email specifically for contesting is pretty much the first thing on the to do list.

As for making a living with contests, I don't believe the hype. I'm convinced it's not possible without cheating/multiple family members, and this is after over a year of doing it seriously.

I do, however, have an impressive collection of ugly t-shirts to show for it.

Choosing someone at random is what's fair. I'll be honest in saying that it's truly impossible to have a "perfect" contest. This was one where we were looking for REAL entries, and REAL input, but when people enter en masse, many who have no intention of coming back, it sucks. But, that's just how it is. I'd rather give out a stellar PC every so often then none at all.

I hate to come off as a total douchebag, but please refrain from using that company's name on these forums. It's a personal issue, and one I am not going to get into.

As for that issue, I have had the exact same one, and it's very, very frustrating. There's one forum right now I'd like to post at, but even though I remember my password, they upgraded a couple of years ago and ended up resetting all of the passwords. Not surprisingly, a defunct e-mail address is what's connected to the forum account.

You might even find it humorous that there's even a dictionary definition for that.

Think of it as a computer game for people who don't have 2-3K to spend on video games.

I wish I had the plate of that truck. It would be making an unscheduled detour.

Haha

I checked the FedEX tracking and it shows that it was delivered. Hope to see some pictures of it soon (as if I don't know what it looks like).

Haha, I'm guessing opening up that box was like Christmas morning? Heck, I got excited just putting it all in there. Oh, and as for the FedEX picture... I seriously laughed out loud. I can't believe you snapped that, haha.

LAWL @ Pic #1.

You're just as obsessive as I am. I like it.

Abuse that thing, Radaja!

Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to sob into my pillow.
